George’s Marvellous Medicine comes to theatres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi
George’s Marvellous Medicine comes to theatres in Dubai and Abu Dhabi: One of Roald Dahl’s bestselling tales was brought to life on stage at The Madinat Theatre this month. A story that encapsulates the magical imaginations of children, it literally raised the roof of the theatre, both through ticket sales and it’s extraordinary sets.
This is the third time George’s Marvellous Medicine has proved to be a sell out performance in the UAE – and thanks to The Birmingham Stage Company and their beautifully performed West End show, it went done a storm with our audiences.
Although there are lots of magical moments within the show, the part everyone familiar with the novel was waiting for, was of course, the bit where Grandma took her medicine! And we did not disappoint, as a complicated series of pulleys and platforms ensured that Grandma really did burst through the roof of the Kranky family homestead.
It’s this kind of stage creativity that really makes the story live for young audiences. Gasps of ‘wow!’ and ‘She’s really growing!’ could be heard all over the theatre at each performance as the story reached it’s pinnacle.
Our philosophy at Art For All is to bring the excitement and magic of the written word to the children in our region. And this show certainly does that and more.
As massive Roald Dahl fans, we’re looking at expanding out theatrical repetoire of the great author himself in 2016. Please let us know which famous Dahl show you’d like to see performed on stages across the UAE!
