The Night Before Christmas comes to the Madinat Theatre Dubai

The Night Before Christmas comes to the Madinat Theatre Dubai: When the festive season returns this December, Art For All has a delightful treat for audiences of all ages, and it starts off like this: “Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse…” Yes, the well loved lines of the eponymous Christmas poem by Clement C Moore, have been transformed into a magical festive stage show filled with seasonal delight and good cheer.

This sparkling, festive tale which will be debuted in the stunning and intimate surroundings of the Madinat Theatre in Dubai, and presented in partnership with Expat Woman,  begins of course, on Christmas Eve. Our story opens with a little girl called, Emily who stares out of the window, hugs her teddy and waits excitedly for the morning. Meanwhile,  in dusty corner, a little mouse called Eddie can’t understand why only people are allowed to celebrate the Christmas season.

Eddie decides to change Christmas as we know it by setting off in search of Santa Claus. His journey is a challenging one as he encounters a sorrowful toy soldier, escapes from the family cat – and even has an adventure with the fairy on top of the Christmas tree. Amidst lots of audience participation, songs and dance, we wonder if Eddie will manage to change Christmas so it is indeed for everyone, large and small. Will Emily get her wish? And what is that funny-shaped present sitting under the tree?

Produced for the stage by Big Wooden Horse ( also behind Monstersaurus and Aliens Love Underpants)  this fantastical, seasonal show will bring the true spirit of Christmas to audiences of all ages.

Writer Adam Bampton-Smith says: “It has been great to be able to write a show all about what a wonderful time Christmas can be – the story is about Eddie the mouse’s adventure but is also about friendship, sharing and the real spirit of Christmas. At 50 minutes long the show is aimed at families with children 3-7 years old who are too young to sit through a full length pantomime. The tickets have been selling really fast which shows you how much need there is for quality shows suitable for this age group. The show features original music, audience participation and a wonderful surprise at the end!”
