The Tiger Who Came To Tea: Classic Children’s Theatre in Dubai
DUCTAC Centerpoint Theatre, Mall of the Emirates, April 29-May 1 2015
The Tiger Who Came To Tea: Classic Children’s Theatre in Dubai: Art For All is delighted to announce the return of The Tiger Who Came to Tea Live On Stage to the UAE this spring. Adapted from the bestselling children’s picture book of the same title by author Judith Kerr, this enchanting tale has been dramatized by the acclaimed children’s theatre director, David Wood.
The show has already enjoyed a sell-out tour date in Dubai in 2010, where it was performed at the Madinat Theatre.
This visually impactful production incorporates sets inspired by the original story’s illustrations, and stays true to the much-loved tale. It also includes lots of audience participation, sing-along moments and several unexpected surprises.
The tale starts with the doorbell ringing just as Sophie and her mummy are sitting down to tea. Who could it possibly be? It can’t be the milkman, because he’s already been, it can’t be the delivery boy, because it’s not his day to come. And it can’t be daddy, because he’s got a key…
What they certainly don’t expect to see at the door is a big, stripy tiger!
A huge hit among children who already know and love the bestselling book, and an exciting discovery for those who are just being introduced to it, this hilarious and colourful production is an unforgettable experience.
David Wood OBE is undisputedly the UK’s leading writer and director of plays and musicals for children. His many successes include Fantastic Mr Fox, The Gingerbread Man, BFG, The Witches, Meg and Mog, Spot and Babe the Sheep Pig.
